Just because we are new, like 18 months old that does not mean that we are small. In fact the growth our business has achieved over the last 18 months has been meteoric. I have always had my own feelings about how to run business and I, till now, have had to compromise those beliefs to accommodate the views of others.
I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT I AM RIGHT AND THEY ARE WRONG, I would rather let the results speak for themselves.
I am not a believer in what I call a strategy lead business. I believe that when money becomes the measure of your success you wind up compromise sing everything else to hit the monetary target. After all what gets measured gets done. I do keep a daily records of turnover etc but this is not the drive, the focus of the business. If making 1,000 pounds a day was the aim then there aim of every e-mail would be to get the caller to send as much as possible. This I believe would lead to people thinking twice before contacting us and eventually everyone would avoid us like the plague.
Instead let me introduce you to the Bio-Freak Way. I call it a culture lead way. It is a series of rules that every member of the team knows that we must follow to make the choices that confront the business each and every day.
RULE ONE: DO WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CUSTOMER EVEN IF IT IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF BIO-FREAK.
This is our golden rule. The customer stays loyal and loyal customer work with us for ever and that way we get more of the dreaded green stuff anyway. This is why our support services are free, the supplements sold at the lowest price we can the books as cheap as possible -everything. Why I see help over 20 people a day every day. Because I try to do the best thing for those that contact me. It is culture rule number one. If no supplements are needed then that is what we tell the customer. It surprised many people, but the day I say you need this guess what – I AM BELIEVED.
RULE TWO: Flourish our customers with as much knowledge as possible.
We have the best products, I know this to be a fact. So if I can give educate bodybuilding community through my books and our articles they will naturally gravitate to our products because they can see that we produce products with proven ingredients and only what works. We search the web and magazines daily and we are in a privileged position to never be behind more than a day on the latest research or developments. Unlike others we then share this info to everyone so they can use it as they wish. No more secrets from anyone at Bio-Freak.
RULE THREE:Make the products as good as possible regardless of base cost.
Nemesis is living proof of this rule, so is the Mass Generator and our other unique products. They contain 20 times the ingredients than others and in better forms and correct ratios. This is why they work so well. Anyone that has tried our products will stick with them and refuse to use anything else. This means high base costs and lower margins but it also means product and brand loyalty.
RULE FOUR:Deliver these products to the market at an affordable price.
This rule really does close us in but again I stand by my belief that through loyalty we will make the money we need to realize our personal goals. Other companies either buy rubbish or they sell expensive rubbish. All designed to make a fast buck. They do not want you back, one sale is enough to keep their boss driving his Jag. We on the other hand make very little profit on each sale because of the high quality costs and also because we try and be competitive. However we have built up a very loyal customer base many of whom have been with us since 1999 when we first started.
RULE FIVE: Only bring out a product if it is the best of its type.
This is why I have not released many products that you see elsewhere, they will come for sure, but I will not bring out a supplement until I can ensure it works and is the best on the market. This may lose us money and even customers who do not know better and what whatever is advertised in the mags and other sites, but we cannot compromise our range just to make some extra money. No compromises means no choice, you have to choose us.
RULE SIXOnly recruit team members that are in the sport because they love it not for what they can get out of it.
The Bodybuilding book and supplement industry is run, up to 97%, by non-bodybuilders and accountants. They are simply in the sport for no other reason than to make money and the more the better. They do not care about the customer or their progress. They will rarely give advice (that they do not know anyone) for free. There are exceptions but even when a company is run by a ex-bodybuilder or current bodybuilder they often sell out and sell crap just to make more money.
If I can buy a person I will not use them. Recently a Bodybuilder who I helped win a major title and he had to choose between working with me or working with another company. They offered him a good deal I offered him nothing but to make him a champion. He went for the money. Of course had he selected us than I would have given him my sponsorship deal of free supplements and 75 pounds a week. He had a price.
On the reverse of this a man called Steven from Spain who wanted me for coaching I told him he had to paypal me 2,000 dollars. He sent the money within the hour. I sent it straight back and said that he had passed the test. With the demands on my time these days I have to select with great care who I invest my time in.
RULE 7: Keep life interesting.
This is an odd one but I love the sport but even I can find some of it tiresome sometimes. Therefore I will continue to throw logs on the fire. Goad companies into attacking me. Expose the scammers no matter what they try and do to stop me. I do not care what mud they sling because who gives a damn anyway but it does make the sport more fun. It does encourage people to read my stuff and visit my site. I have destroyed several scammers over the last few years who dared to cheat me or other bodybuilders. Bio-Freak is in a very strong position. In all we can mobilize the support of over 1 million Bodybuilders at any one time. Mess with us and you will regret it. However on the flip side if you are a genuine person or company we will support you. So you never know what to expect next and man do I have something up my sleeve. It will shake everyone and no one will believe it. Beyond belief, controversy shit, build a nuclear bunker and get down their fast. I will need an orbiting satellite to get clear. Fun fun fun.
RULE 8: REINVEST A HALF OF ALL PROFITS INTO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT.
We put a certain percentage of all profits made back into the sport and future projects and research. This is after all what keeps us ahead, why we are already numerous uno in the world for bodybuilding book sales, why we sold over 1,000 subs for The Members site since it launched last year. Why our site, within 2 years, is getting 1 million hits every six months.
RULE 9: Use only the best at every level.
We have a good solid team. Small yes, but huge in knowledge and passion for what they do. The graphics of Jake are beyond compare. Our products are made by Cambridge foods the best and most trusted producer in Europe. Our printers are the best in the world. Our customer services agent has over 10 years in the industry and has stayed with Bio-freak for reduced pay out of loyalty to us. Agent-X, a pro who has won Mr. Olympia, the Arnold classic and basically everything else is here to back me up with customer support.
